I wanted Jtro (lead character) to be this stand out super cool looking hero of the piece, in an 80s computer game inspired action pose! I then placed the other characters surrounding him and the Dance Dance Revolution battle arena below. Hence depicting him in the background looming over every one and the electric hands/glowing eyes. The light also represents the ‘beat beat’ power of Jtro and the others possess, something the main bad guy can suck from the defeated souls of his fallen foes. I structured the design around a central light column, to represent the dance game (which is the focal point of the gangs battles) utilizing the game graphic (text and arrows). The humour and stylised content of the story gave me a lot of elements to play with, especially the synthwave hyper 80s music style, which allowed me to dip into a vibrant colour pallet of neon blues and pinks. I wanted to create a heavily stylised piece for this that people would just dig. Length 4:56 Released BPM 123 Key A min Genre Techno (Peak. I was a big fan of The FP and so excited to be able to create some Synth wave, post apocalyptic, ‘Dance Dance Revolution’ inspired explosive art for the sequel.
